I am Diné, but I live in a land of many ghosts. Long before the Diné came southward into this land, the ancient ones were here. You people call them the Anasazi, but to us they were the ancient enemies. Although they left long ago, their dwellings remain, like sentinels in the desert. I live closely with their descendants, the Pueblo Peoples, in a wonderful mix.
You are welcome to my hogan. May you and those you love enjoy the Blessing Season.

Navajo Sand Paintings are magical artworks with a long and rich history. The image above is from The Penfield Gallery of Indian Art
Other images in my Hogan - although from the Pueblo peoples, not Navajo - are by the incomparable Pablita Velarde, whose CCC paintings for Bandalier National Monument in the 1930's, until her recent death, have become classics of Southwestern art.
