Ni Hao, honoured visitor! Welcome to my pavilion. I am Fu Hao, the favoured consort and general of Emperor Wu Ding of the Shang Dynasty.

Yes, that's right, consort and general. I was taken as wife by the Emperor to seal my tribe's allegiance with him, but I have forged for myself the role of his strongest military leader.

I control my own fiefdom on the edge of the Shang Empire from which I defend our borders, and have led generals and a huge army of ten thousand soldiers in battle. I am also a high priestess and oracle caster, and such is my Emperor husband's great confidence in me that I am often instructed to conduct sacrificial and divination ceremonies on his behalf.
