VR Rome is now up and running. You can see the webpage at www.vrromeonline.com
From this webpage you can read about VR Rome and if so inclined download the program. I have been involved with Virtual Reality since 1996 and in 2007 recieved a lifetime achievement award for my work. I started VR Rome to take a break from my other VR work. For me it is a labor of love and I think visitors will find a huge diversity of objects and places to visit. Visitors are able to talk to one another either by print or voice. They can use their arrow keys to move forward or back and turn left or right. The numeric + key allows flying and the - key returns you to earth. If you get stuck just press an arrow key and the shift key and you will be able to move through walls or whatever. The Forum area is complete out to and including the Colosseum. Quite a few shops and houses are complete also. Many of the doors can be opened by clicking on them. Enjoy your visit.
Just a quick update. The picture at the top right is the enclosed garden in back of my home. You can walk about and look at the paintings and there is a small pool with a young boy at the center in back of the garden. In the upper right is a picture of my avatar standing in front of one of the buildings just off the Forum area. As you can see, it is totally 3D.
Just a quick addition. I have now added a 60 meter by 60 meter map of the entire city of rome and by clicking on the red dots you will be instantly transported to that particular building.
