My sister Kahina and I are the daughters of Casca Quintus Rocus, and granddaughters of Lucius Casca Rocus. Both our father and grandfather were in the new and thriving silk trade coming from the eastern Kingdom called Seres.
Grandfather started the family business while he was serving (in the army) in Alexandria under Marc Antony. He was fascinated with this new and luxurious fabric arriving from the east so he decided to start trading it. Silk became the fashionable thing to wear, and the demand for it is still very high, even now, 100 years later.
