This is my "Hall of Dreams", and like any dream, it's only passing.....most of what you can see here may look very different in a day or two....to sum it up, I'm redecorating it all, and most graphic elements will change before long.
Still, hopefully, the look of this place, no matter at which stage of redecorating I'll be in, will let you know that I'm very much into asian culture. While Japan is definitely my main focus (see my Japanese Connection links above), I am very interested in basically every single country of Asia, so don't be surprised if you spot graphics here that look suspisciously chinese or indian for instance ^-^

I first joined Ancient Worlds in July 2004. While it took me a few weeks to become really active, I have since then been pretty much around everyday, under one guise or another. At the end of January 2005, I was nominated to become part of the Oriental scribal team for an almost two years term, which was a fantastic experience, both because of the possibility if offers to make a difference in your world, and because it has given my the chance to work in close quarters with such wonderful people as Sankira Qin, Lalita Ashoka, Shanti Ashoka and my sister japanese scribe, Shibori Murasaka. A huge thanks to all these people for making this experience so memorable (for all the good reasons)
I've enjoyed my scriba emeritae status between November 5, 2006 and November 2, 2009, when I was given the chance to rejoin the Oriental scribal team, allowing me to work together with Feiyan Zhou, who has become over time one of the pillars of this community, and Sun Wukong Tang, who you may find somewhere in Southern Asia, working hard to bring the finishing touch to a wonderful project that shall be unveiled soon....
I am of course at your disposal, along with my fellow Oriental scribes, should you have any question, be it related to the site or Asia, and in particular Japanese history, language or culture
I am currently focusing my effort on translating sources for a massive endeavor that I've been too lazy to undertake until now.....more details to come soon! However, you can have a peak at my current work at my new Kyoto Estate:

As a result, I've put a few other projects on hold for now (although there may be a few updates now and then), but you can still visit

When I am not at AW, I am working on a few projects of mine:

I am also focusing on learning Japanese. As a result I've spent a lot of time lately at this site (also great if you're a student in Chinese, as they've started an intermediary chinese course)

Since I'm still in the process of learning about both Ancient History and creating a website, comments and constructive criticism on both issues are welcome!
Website's updates will be first announced here at my journal, so come have a look once in a while to see what's new. And, if you're curious to know what other interests I have, you can always go check my live journal:
I'd like to thank a few people who helped me in one way or another to work on this place: Sank and Damon were both sources of inspiration for me (I know Sank, there's way too much pink, LOL! I promise, not much pink in store for the next pages *g*). And of course, many, many thanks to Shanti for 1) being a constant source of inspiration (I mean, have you seen her home? Her gallery at AAW? What's not to like?) 2)always be there to provide precious advice and keep me from straying....too far :P and 3) for coping with my bad temper as it flares basically at every single stage of the building of this layout, since it never turns out the way I had envisaged it!
Credits: regarding the "Japanese connection thingy, the basic idea of the layout was mine, but not all of its elements: I used the set of brushes vered set up for the tutorial "Fake Real Texture Tutorial". And the orchids come from a picture by juicystyle that was in her flickr gallery. Her picture (and therefore that specific derivative work) is licenced under that Creative Commons licence.
The butterfly brush came from:

Regarding the table top: the images I used belong to (from left to right): "Hiroshima Castle" by Spiegel, ukiyo-e by Eizan (public domain), cherry blossom by yajiko, pic "13", statue and flower by al-sun and the view of Kyoto by tiseb. All of them where found at flickr, and all are under this Creative Commons licence, except the one by al-sun (all rights reserved).
