My name comes from what is believed to be the earliest portrait of a Mayan woman, which is a stele engraved with "Ix Tzutz Nik". It translates into English as something like Lady Completion Flower. The fourth-century stele from the Classic Maya period was found near the city of Naachtun in Guatemala, north of the ancient Mayan city of Tikal. No one knows who Completion Flower was, but these kinds of stone engravings were usually to honor a queen or a goddess. Some archaeologists believe Tzutz Nik was a queen in Tikal and a princess of Rio Azul. Others think this is a deity figure. It could be both!

You can read an article about the stele here.
