Welcome to my Domus! I am happy to be living once again in the Ancient World after a long absence. Think of me as a trained advocate, active in the law courts of my city, but also as an independent scholar with a diverse range of academic interests and projects under way.
The history of Byzantium is one of my great passions, but there's hardly any period of history or part of the world that doesn't interest me. I'm also quite knowledgeable about classical Greek and Hellenistic history, medieval history, and the history of Western Europe generally.
Lately, I've been studying the history of the Moslem world, with a particular focus on Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Central Asia during the Middle Ages. I have travelled extensively in Europe and the Middle East and would be delighted to share travel information or experiences with anyone with similar interests.
