Welcome to my Wain! My name is Hareth, sister-daughter of Helche, who was the first wife of Atli, king of the Huns. There is little of me around here, for the moment, beside this kind gift. I am a hunter and voyager: I travel light.
Mind the step, and forgive the smell of animal pelts. But spare a prayer for the animals who laid down their life so that my family and I could survive. Ours is a hard people; I did not grow up as a pampered royal damsel in Soest. As an only child, I am required to support my parents. Royalty is no excuse for idleness.
I should be married, of course. A wedding with another royal scion was arranged when we were children. Then he disappeared for his adventures. I cannot blame him. My parents will not settle for anything less, so... here I am, bringing home food and coins.
My uncle is very proud of me. He would be even prouder if I actually managed to marry Thidrek Amaligg, the lad I knew since he was a guest/hostage at Atli's court. I taught him to shoot a bow and to ride the Hunnish way; when I look at all the troubles he is in these days, I have to think that he never really learned anything...
For the moment I'm wasting my time at the Red Boar, and maybe will sooner or later join Thidrek in his quest in Yggdrasil. You can know about the literary sources of my adventures in my Sources room.
