Hello. Welcome to my Taigh. Would you like a cup of tea, or perhaps a glass of whiskey? Please make yourself comfortable while I tell you a little about myself. I’m from Eire, near a
town called Glendaimin close to the south coast. I’m a healer, studied with my sen-mathir* for eight years. I was taken by pirates when I was gathering herbs, when I was sixteen. They’ve kept me prisoner for the past ten years, acting as healer for them. The Captain forced me to his bed, though I fought tooth and nail against him. Later, I was grateful. I realized that when he made me his property, he saved me from the rough attentions of the rest of the crew. After a very eerie adventure during a monsoon last year, he quit the pirating business, and we settled quietly in the Orient for the last year. I would like, someday, to return to Eire, at least for a visit.
