Emperor Augustus

Augustus was the first emperor of rome. He transferred a Republic on the verge of collapse to a thriving empire. After Julius Caesar's death, Augustus became part of the 2nd triumvirate. Soon after, Augustus won the battle of Actium in Egypt and became the emperor of the Roman Empire. He died at the old age of 77 despite his sickliness. His memory was a paradigm of a good emperor, and although every emperor adopted his name, Caesar Augustus, only a handful, such as Trajan, earned comparison with him.
