I have had such an excellent time as scribe in this world and thank you all very much for all the fun times we've shared and for taking the time to teach me so many things. The Orient is the best world in this site in my opinion. And it has the best members! Thank you Shanti, Aria and Shibori for this lovely thank you plaque.

Gifts rock! And so does Sementaway who gave me this rub-a-dub lamp.
As you can see, my main interests in The Orient is in ancient India. The time period that fascinates me the most I believe is during Ashoka the Great's rule, but I also have a great deal of interest in the ancient Harrapa (also known as Indus Valley Civilization), the Gupta era for it's golden era of Indian art and sculpture and also for the later Mughal period. I have very little experience in 'role play' but hope to develop this persona into a charactor some day. Some sites that may interest you that I visit for research follow.

In case you are wondering, I am not Indian by birth. When I first created this persona in april of 2004, I worried about this. We hadn't opened The Orient's gate yet, and I was unsure if we would have Indian members who may be offended at the pretense. But when I asked another scribe about it, she said "Well, I 'play' an ancient Egyptian, and obviously I'm not! So why shouldn't you be free to be Indian?" Good point.

The elephant and her mahoot up there is taken from a great print by Hiroshi Yoshida, he is also the artist who created the Taj Mahal that is in my library.
All other images, avatars, backgrounds made by myself. The paisley background that may or may not sometimes be in here and the "emerald mists" background I have in my library were both created by myself with the use of dingbat fonts I downloaded from House of Lime
