"Man is a genius when he is dreaming." Akira Kurosawa, Japanese filmmaker.
Kon'nichiwa
My name means silvery wave in Japanese. I was born on the first night of the full moon while my parents were net fishing on our beach. My father, who is a storyteller by profession, loves to recite the moment of my arrival, describing in great detail how a beautiful iridescent wave flowed ashore, and lingered, gently caressing my mother's limbs as I entered this world. He says that I laughed outright, when most newborns cry, and began swimming immediately in the surf. My father embellishes his stories a bit, but he says that is a storyteller's prerogative.

New ~ Japan's best known woodblock print, The Great Wave, was painted by Japan's best known artist, Hokusai. Click HERE to learn more about this fascinating Bohemian.
In the Courtyard I conduct storytelling,
an art form in my country.
I am still a novice, but one day I hope to apprentice to the Master storyteller in Kyoto.
In the Library you will find an article about Art and the Samurai.

In the quiet sanctity of my study, I serve Ti Kuan Yin, also known as Guanyin, the famous oolong tea, and tell supernatural stories.
All are welcome!

It was bound to happen. I've been stricken with Panda Fever!

I am a Pig! Yes, according to Chinese Horoscope I was born in the year of the pig.
The Pig is born under the sign of honesty. He is very popular with others and enjoys other peoples's company. He is a joiner and likes clubs and societies. He will be a loyal member and will never shirk his duty as a club member. He is an excellent fund raiser and loves to be involved with charity work and humanitarian groups.
The Pig is a hard worker and is well respected for his integrity, honesty, and reliability. People recognize these traits in the Pig and he is valued for them at his work place. He is known for his unselfish giving of time and energies to anyone who needs them. He is a kind and understanding person who is known for his peace-maker abilities. He tries to avoid discord and unpleasantness and always strives for a peaceful solution to problems. He hates falsehood and deception and will not tolerate injustice or illegal pursuits. However his forgiving nature makes him a liberal when it comes to law and order issues. He is never vindictive and will forgive and forget very easily. Hmmm... not so sure about that last part matching my character.
