Ten years ago, I bought a game called SPQR, and it ended up literally changed my life. I couldn't figure out how to get a combination lock open and came online to get some help. Within no time, I had met a small group of people that I found witty and charming and imaginative beyond all belief.
Although I continued to play the game, I found myself spending even more time online at Ancient Sites. I opened a little cyber-tavern called The Venus Fly Trap, better known as "The Trap" (no longer a thread here, alas) and had a blast with the contributions made there by the patrons.
One of those crazy people actually tried to talk me into going to law school...and I was actually crazy enough to do it! (Law school would prove to be the kiss of death for my time with my fellow Rostrafarians.)
I'm now an attorney, and when people ask what made me give up teaching, I smile and tell them, "You'll never believe me...."
I welcome visitors, but I especially welcome Barb Inca, Anticus Cornelius, Julilla Sempronius, M Didius, Demetrius Marius, Ariel (creator of Ice Teas), Heraklia Aelius, and all the other lovely people I haven't seen in the last six years!
