The Orient - 10/17
Come celebrate Goldfest V under the Autumn moon. The highlight of your day in the Orient will be The Autumn Moon Puppet Theatre, which will showcase the puppetry styles and stories of five different Asian cultures:
10:00 a.m. The Ambitious Carp (Vietnamese water puppets/Roi Nuoc)
12:30 p.m. Prince Wicked And The Grateful Animals (Burmese string puppets/Yoke Thay)
2:00 p.m. Nose Master (Taiwan glove puppets/Budaisi)
4:30 p.m. Tamamo no Mae (Japanese rod puppets/Bunraku)
7:00 p.m. Bima and The Naga (Javanese shadow puppets/Wayang Kulit)
During the theatre intermissions, you can take a relaxing boat tour on China's Grand Canal. We'll also have several new articles for you to read and possibly a mystery game and a quiz. Be sure to visit the Orient Festival Guide on October 17 for easy navigation to our GoldFest offerings. |
Celtia - 10/18
Road Trip! ~ Take out your AMC Gremlin,Corvare, Celtic horses even or Roman chariots on a groovy trip to some hip hood homes throughout Celtia. Start by clicking the ROAD TRIP sign and follow the ring links through the far-out homes in Celtia.
Dead or Alive? ~ Do you know...who is dead or who is alive?
"I will survive!" or a "Celtic Idol" Disco songwriting event ~ Break out your turntables and big headphones. Take your favorite disco tune and rewrite it in any AW theme you would like. The funnier the better.
Discoteque at the Trisk ~ That ain't no gold medallion on John Travolta's neck, that's the Triskellion's invite to you to shake your tailfeather under the disco lights.
Samhain Decorating Contest ~ Break out the formica, shag carpet and lava lamps. Gussy up your place with the Sahmain Decorating contest. Theme catagories include:Spooky, Funny, and Traditional Sahmain. It begins Oct 18-31. Voting Nov 1-3.
