In 5600, the Mediterranean flooded into the Black Sea lake with so much force, it drove the many peoples around it far away. Some carried civilization to Sumeria and Egypt, others built the world's largest buildings along their path to modern-day Paris. Come face the starvation, theft and wars these people encountered. |

If there is a people who were hurt more than the others by the flood, it had to be these people. First the waterfall itself comes right into their midst. Then they suffer a gigantic mudslide. Add this to the flood, the fish dead from salt, the lost homes, the lost crops, the lost relatives....
Now these are some people with strength of character....or a lot of insanity. They get a powerful waterfall right in their homeland, and lakewater turning salty, so the fish can't live, they decide to climb to the top of the waterfall. When they got to the top, rather than retreating from the water that attacked them, they built ships and put out to sea, settling in Samothrace, and then in Dalmatia. I assume they must have been boat-people before the flood happened, but that's little more than a guess.
