    The Greeks had a thriving culture known as the Bronze Age from approximately 3400 b.c.e to 1100 b.c.e. For unknown reasons, the culture abruptly terminated, yet certain aspects of this earlier time influenced Classical Greece. Here is a thread of the discussion of those aspects.
