Create your gift to the pilgrims of the Shrine.

As written by Susa E. Black, "Brigit is primarily the patron Goddess of poets, healers and smiths.

She is also a patron of other womanly arts – midwifery, dyeing, weaving and brewing, and the guardian of children and farm animals – particularly cows.

The island of Ireland itself is said to be the green mantle of Brigit.

She is also said to be the patron of travelers, sailors, and fugitives.

She is specifically a patroness to the Druids in her aspects of poetry (Bards), healing and prophecy (Ovates) and blacksmithing. (Druids)."

This being said, it is Brighid that inspires all walks of life. It is the Flaming Arrow that pierces the heart and warms the spark of creation within all Celts. It is in this season that she fills us most with the gift of inspiration.

You find yourself waking from a very peaceful slumber, a bottle of whiskey at your hip and your stave at the ready. Around you the warmth of spring and the sweet scented air of newly sprung plantlife. There is a burning in your soul that stirrs you to create a divine gift for all that visit the Shrine. A lasting testiment to the Triple Goddess.

You know that you must create a new plant (or shrubbary) that will ease those of your trade. Something that only the forge of Brighid could stirr.. something new and amazing that will cause the pilgrams to weep at its very sight. You are charged to create a gift from the Goddess...

    Now... for the rules:
    1. All participants must devise a new plant or crop (or livestock) that will show one of the gifts from the goddess.

    2. All participants must make an attempt at a graphic image of their entry. ( I will accept found graphics so long as they dont offend copyright laws. I will also accept stick figures drawn in paint) (it doesnt have to be pretty.)

    3. All participants must pick up the story from the point of their inspiration and tell how they came to grow (or husband) their entry.

    4. We have issued an extention. The deadline is Midnight 2/5/2007.

    5. Participation is for FUN. All participants will receive a prize.

if you need help with image bases, please let me know and I will help you out!
