Deidre Mayfair sits in her rocking chair on the porch of the famous first and chestnut street house. In Florida her Adopted daughter Rowan learns of her death and returns to New Orleans. And so begins the history of the Mayfair Witches when Aaron Lightner of the Talamasca reveals their history of magic, gold, and an eternal entity known as Lasher who has brought the family its near feudal power and wealth for three hundred years! Rowan Mayfair is the thirteenth witch and Lasher has plans for her that will divide the powerful Mayfair clan.
