Will you slay the king of the jungle? Will the dreaded aurochs best you in a battle of wits?

The Venatio Exhibitors ("Venators") who sign up must write and post a description of their "hunt" (combat) in the arena against an animal or animals of their choosing. Alternatively a venator may describe their skill in "animal taming" (think Siegfried & Roy). Graphics may be added if desired but are optional. Write your battle however you wish. Each post will be judged by ringmistress Maria Marius on the grounds of creativity, originality, and clarity. First prize is a wreath of olive leaves. Second prize is a wreath of laurel leaves. Third prize is a wreath of gold. All contestants will receive a plaque commemorating their participation in the venatio.
