 THE ILIAD IN LIMERICKS - There once was a Trojan called Paris...

The attempts to improve Homer have been many. Timolaus doubled the length by repeating every line in different words. Nestor rewrote the poem without using the letter 'A' in Book 1, the letter 'B' in Book 2, and so on. Tryphiodorus rewrote the Odyssey without using the letter 'S.' Sotades the Obscene rewrote the poem in jocular verse. Yes, the Greek poets were clever, but none of them were as clever as Aulus - who had the brilliant Roman idea to rewrite the Iliad in LIMERICKS! This will be a massive undertaking, but the rewards are great - eternal immortality and poetical fame sung so long as there is air in the lungs of a bard and an unbroken string on their lyre! Let us begin, Erato awaits...
