 Faith in the daily life of the Romans

This board is not aimed at exploring faith within Roman Religion, rather it aims at exploring "sects" within the Roman Civilization. It is for this reason that I have selected the Subura for the exploration of this theme.
The most well known of faiths external to the Romans during it's glory days was Christianity. I would like to explore Chirstianity and it's importance within Roman society. At the same time I would like to explore the place of other faiths such as Mithraism which is one among a group of many. This is not the AVC and is meant as a serious discussion.
