The Casting Thread
This is where the major players will be assigned to the various posters on a first-come, first-serve basis. If there is a particular part you wish to play, post it. If you declare first, you get the part. If not, that's the way the cookie bounces.
If you don't get the part you want, and still want to play, we can find a suitable second choice for you (which you should have in mind from the get-go). I will post a list of major characters very soon. I, as creator of the board, will abstain from picking a part until all major parts are cast. This board is for the members of Hugrunar, not the vanity of the creator.
I'm pretty sure we're gonna have to assign a few parts, i.e. King Ella, who ends up recieving the Blood Eagle (no, that's not a Viking prize for bravery, for the uninitiated).
As it says above, fictional parts will be allowed, subject to approval by moi (with advice and input from the Thiu and Gaze). Fictional parts will be approved based on historical accuracy, relevance to the overall plot, and whether or not the proposer pays the Jarl a huge sum of Danegeld.
Just seeing if you were paying attention.
The criteria for a fictional character are as follows:
1. Historical accuracy
2. Relevance to the overall story
3. The overall esprit de corps of the proposed character.
meaning:
a) does he/she fit in with the overall concept of Danish
Vikings hacking up Angles and Britons?
b) Is the proposed character interesting and worth
writing about?
c) Is the proposed character plausible?
All three of the above-mentioned criteria will be taken into account before a final judgement is made.
Stay tuned for the casting call...
