The thread is dedicated to the workings of the Roman army on the frontiers of the empire (i.e. from the first century AD to the fifth century AD). Any topic to units involved, historical records, archaeology and workings of the frontiers(strategy, tactics, logistics) is welcome.
The thread is dedicated to the workings of the Roman army on the frontiers of the empire (i.e. from the first century AD to the fifth century AD). Any topic about the history, archaeology. as well as the units involved and the workings of the frontiers(strategy, tactics, logistics) is welcome.
The idea is to deal with the whole empire, so not only Hadrian's Wall, but also the Limes, the Danube defences, the Dobrudja lines, the fortress in Charax, the Euphrates frontier, and the (pre-)desert frontiers of Syria, Arabia, Egypt and the African provinces.
