The Gorgon

Deep in the dark forests of Macedon, close to the foothills of the north slope of Mount Olympus a great gorge cuts through the earth. The steep cliffs fall a thousand feet to a roiling white water torrent below. There are no trails, descent is only by an arduous climb using sharp hand and footholds. Few go there as it is here that the a cave is found which the Macedonians call, Gorgon Spilaio, Gorgon Cave.

If you would enter the cave, beware. Avoid stepping in the pools of water. They are filled with a particularly venomous kind of small serpent; Their kiss is instant death.

The gorgon shall ask you a question; she shall say, " Where is the great Alexander?" You must answer quickly, say at once, " The great Alexander lives and reigns." If you do not say this, she shall eat you on the spot.

When you have answered the gorgon's question, you may ask her anything you wish to know about Macedon. The gorgon knows all and shall give you a true answer.
