Climb Mount Everest!
|
|
Take your e-life in your hands and try to reach the summit of the loftiest mountain in the world. Brave wind chill, avalanches, ice crevasses, and the Abominable Snow Woman! The more you know about the Orient, the better your chances of survival!
The Tibetan Mountaineering Association, AncientWorlds Chapter,
Presents the Sporting Event of a Lifetime
The Rules in a Nutshell
To form an expedition, sign up on this thread, listing your name and the names of your team members. When you're ready to begin your ascent (after 12:00 AWT, Saturday, April 30th), have your expedition leader post a request for a climbing permit and you'll be assigned to a sherpa. (Sign-up and permit requests can be made in one post.) Climbing is done by answering "travel" questions that will be posed by the sherpa to which your team is assigned, but you need equipment to trade for each question. You assemble equipment before leaving base camp by answering "equipment questions"...or you can trust your luck to find equipment along the way. Discover any (or all) of the five endangered species graphics hidden around The Orient and you can trade each one for a free move.
But be careful, there are dangers along the way. Carry too much equipment and you move more slowly than a team packing less weight...and only the first team to reach summit wins. Answer three "travel" questions in a row incorrectly, and you are buried in an avalanche (meaning you fall back one move). Answer a total of ten "travel" questions wrong and Everest defeats you. Still, as a consolation prize, you'll receive the "I Died Trying to Climb Mount Everest" plaque. If you meet the Abominable Snow Woman, be prepared to appease her. For those who wish to formulate a strategy for tackling Mount Everest, complete details of the rules can be found using the buttons below...or you may decide to simply wing it. Your sherpa can help clarify the rules for you. Enjoy your climb...and good luck! |
