    A scavenger hunt for Saturnalia

Contest Rules for the Inventors Quest 2004

Contestants will have to travel not only Rome but all worlds of Ancient Worlds to find 9 artistic puzzle pieces.

To find them you will have to first solve a riddle that will lead you to each piece's place and then copy the image location so you can post the image in the thread once you find it.

Each riddle will be worth 5 points and one will be posted every 15 minutes, giving participants that much time to post their answers.

If anyone at any time cannot solve a riddle you can just skip that one and move on to the next, but you will loose points if you do so, so keep this in mind.

Any answers posted AFTER the next riddle is up will not be awarded any points, so keep track of the time, people.

If at any point anyone needs help you may gram one of our judges:

    Cyhiraeth Volcae or Desdemona Eurimedon.

Patrons and admin will not have this problem, but if any citizens or novices entering the contest run out of posts at any point they may:
    A. use another persona to post, as long as they have let the judges know that this new persona is also them (ahead of time), or…
    B. they may gram Desdemona and she will post for you.

In this case all grams will be posted in the order she receives them and no favours will be given to anyone.
In her words: "I am ruthless that way! He he!"

Just before the 15 minutes are up a post will be made letting you know that you are about to run out of time, so make sure that you keep an eye on the thread as well.

There is one tricky rule to this game though:
To avoid having anyone cheating during the game, by copying your answers, I suggest that you wait as long as you can to make your posts.
This way when a message is posted saying that you are about to run out of time, the first person to post will be awarded one bonus point.
This will of course continue throughout the contest so each question gives you a chance to win bonus points if you are the first one to post.

Once this first part of the contest is over all points will be posted, for everyone to see.

In case of a tie between members at the end of the contest, a tie breaker will be posted together with the rules for it.
The contestants who are tied will then be given 5 minutes to solve the last riddle and post.

First one to post the right answer will then win the tie breaker and be awarded more points. This person will however NOT necessarily win the game.
    Why? You may ask.
Well, if we have an obvious winner for the first part of the game, but we have a tie for second or third place, the tie breaker will be used to determine second and third place.
So, if both the winner and the person in second place have the same amount of points, the original winner will still be awarded first price because he/she managed to solve the first part of the game.
The tie breaker points are as follows:
5 for the first person to post the first correct answer, 3 for the second one and 1 for the third one.

And finally, all winners will be announced about an hour after the contest is over.
They will then be awarded their customised plaques and site currency.

Good luck with the hunt to everyone, and may the best Roman win!
