Myths are traditional prose narratives, which are considered to be truthful accounts of what happened in the remote past. Typically they deal with the activities of gods and demigods, the creation of the world and its inhabitants, and the origins of religious rituals.
Lao folk literature is rich and varied with several types of myths which are both in poetry and prose and most of them are considered sacred. |
