For discussion and stories of the pirates of Asia.
The China Seas were an ideal breeding ground for pirates. Sea trade in and around the Orient flourished, but the governments in that area only offered helplessness and apathy. Japan and then China were plagued by civil wars, and a burgeoning Hong Kong had so much sea traffic that it was impossible to patrol, even when the British annexed it as part of the Empire.
The last thing any ship loaded with precious cargo wanted to encounter was a Pirate Junk at the ready. Asian pirates were known for their ferocity. Junks dotted the rivers and harbors of China and Hong Kong, and it was often impossible to tell whether they belonged to merchants or pirates until it was too late...
