The Heb Sed Festival, or "King's Jubilee" was a ritual that allowed the living king, after he had ruled for some years, to magically refresh his physical powers and thus continue to reign. It is a rite both or renewal and assertion of power. Pharaoh would run a course around the Heb Sed court, stopping at chapels along the course dedicated to certain deities where the Netjer would renew his kingly power.

This year Pharaoh has decided to invite the whole of the ancient world to his Jubilee. In fact, he wants to see if you can beat him!

Starting at 6pm EST/18:00 AW time Pharaoh will begin his course around the Heb Sed court with you at his side. Deterring Pharaoh from his course is strictly forbidden. However, you are not only welcome, but encouraged to cause problems for your fellow runners. After all, this is not only a test of physical prowess but wit and strategy as well.

    Rules:

    1. Do not deter Pharaoh from his course.

    2. The race ends when Pharaoh has made his way around the court. The path is as follows:

    Chapel of Aset
    Chapel of Set
    Chapel of Heru
    Chapel of Ausar

You will be alerted when Pharaoh has made offerings at each Chapel. When Pharaoh reaches the Chapel of Ausar the race is over.

    3. Racers may do anything in their power to stop their fellow racers. This includes, but is not excluded too: tripping, de-kilting, random herds of geese, etc. As stated, this is more than a test of physical prowess.

    4. You must run the same course as pharaoh. No skipping Chapels, there is no required time limit to spent at each Chapel but you must at least drop a few coins as you pass.

Winners will be determined not by who crosses the line first but who Pharaoh finds to be closes to him in speed and wit. Of course, how much you entertain Pharaoh with your antics will also be considered.

Points will be awarded to the winners and all participants receive one point for the over all Egypt prize.
