Malkata ('the place of debris') is the Arabic name for the site of Amenhotep III's New Kingdom palace on the West bank of the Nile at Thebes (Waset). Covering 30 hectares, it incorporated four palaces, numerous villas for officials and courtiers, the Temple of Amun, kitchens and other buildings. The old palace complex will be the location for the hunt.

The task for players is to recover 7 objects that are buried throughout the buildings and grounds. Once the objects are located, they are to be 'brought back' by players and posted in the thread below.

All discoveries add points to the players' individual tallies. The overall winner of this particular event will be the first person to recover all 7 objects at which point the game ceases.

As with Egypt's other Springfest events, all participants are awarded one point regardless of their success which can be added to their overall festival tally.

A link will be provided at all pertinent points to allow access back to AW to enable posting.

    Hints for the Easily Frustrated

Be prepared to wander and remember that not all paths led to...Thebes.

There are multiple paths to pursue in each section. There is an overall logic to progression but obstacles will try to deflect you from the path *snicker*

Good luck! Access the hunt here!!

The scavenger hunt concludes Egypt's festival offerings for SpringFest 2004.
