Mythologies and legends of the peoples of the Eskimo-Aleut language group. What are the common threads here?
The tales people tell to each other serve many purposes. They help cement tribes together, giving them a common bond. They help train up the young, as there are metaphoric Truths common to these tales. They help prepare the youth for the particular lives they will lead within the context of the Tribe.
