Imbolc planning 2012

For planning and discussion of the Celtic festival of Imbolc

We gather here to praise Bright Brighid, the patron of poetry, hearth and home, smithing and a host of other facets of everyday Celtic life.
For the early Celts, the feast of Imbolc was a celebration of the coming of Spring and the return of the warmth of the sun.
Early Celtic Christians also celebrated Imbolc. When Brighid was sainted in the 5th century by the early church, February 1st became St. Brighid's Day and February 2nd became Candlemas, which are still observed today.
In 2012, we are holding our feis at Dún Ailinne.
