Elves & Dwarves
It is from the ancient Germans that we get Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Trolls and Frost Giants, among others. Their version of the Otherworld is realized in the many realms, including Alfheim, Asgard and Valhalla. Elves and Faeries are quite comparable characters, as is the Irish goddess Morrigan and the Valkyrie – the prototype of the Fairy Godmother. Might the Celtic Triune Goddess be related to the Norns?
