Discussion on the Period known as the Halstatt epoch which lasted from 1000 BC to 500 BC.
Halstatt is the name of the town in Austria where the oldest settlement of Celtic civilization has been found. It was originally a salt mine, but soon became a large trading post where many people around Europe came to trade goods. It was also one of the earliest sites where Iron is used by humans and kicks off what we call today the Iron Age.
