Also known as the Fenian or Finn cycle. This stories are centered around Fionn Mac Cumhaill and the Fennians.
According to Irish legend, Fionn lived during the third century after Christ but references to him didn't appear until several centuries later. Most references to Fionn and the Fennians come from 12th century or later manuscripts.
The numerous stories of Fionn and Fennian share formed an important part of the literature. The Fennians were a band who were forced to be ready to take up arms at any time for the people of Ireland.
