One of the primary and most simple elements of ancient Celtic poetry was alliteration. This is a good place for us to begin our exploration of forms in composition.
Alliteration: repetition of the initial consonant, at least twice in a row.
Examples:
"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers."
"Brendan, holy Brendan of the blessed beard."
"The lively linnet launched her lyric."
Get the idea?
To launch this topic, here is my example.
The raven roosts on blood-crusted crux of battle,
Carefully cleaning gory gleanings,
Proudly preening blue black plumes,
Feasted fully at the warriors' wake,
Belly bulging, savagely sated.
Now it's your turn!
