Welcome
Hugrunar - The World of the Vikings
A group for the discussion of all aspects of the culture of the Vikings - their wars, voyages, art, literature, language and legacy. Hugrunar means 'Thought Runes' and encompasses discussion of the Viking Age from the Fifth to the Eleventh Centuries.

I'm slowly adding new threads to the various Hugrunar boards to start to give the place a bit of structure. But what these threads need now is some posts.

Please don't be shy. If you don't feel qualified to comment on the topics already established, just ask some questions. That's usually the way the best discussions start.

There are six threads established on the Fair Fame of Years - History of the Vikings board, tracing the Vikings from their Migration Age origins to their Norman successors. And there are now three threads on The Mead of Poetry - Viking Literature and Art - one for discussion of Viking sagas and verse, one for Viking artistic styles and one for anyone who wants to present their own poetry to the feast hall.

More threads will be added over the next few days, but if you have an idea for a thread, you'd best address the Althing and make your case.
