Welcome
Pax Inter Pares
Peace Between Equals. Caesar has crossed the Rubicon, but Civil War did not erupt. Caesar and Pompey stand together against the Republicans. In this alternative Rome, who will come out ahead? Or will anyone? You decide.

Hi all. Its been quiet lately, but I now understand this is due to a little confusion over my very different GMing style.

Unlike the previous GM, while I might have an idea of what is going to happen to Rome in the future - as in there is an impending disatster, rebellion, or some such- I really don;t have an 'agenda.' I want you to feel free o seek out your destiny a bit more.

Do I have a general direction I want you to go? Yes. Because I want you heading ina direction where you should solve a problem if Rome is to survive, or your career and family are to survive. But solving those problems are not always going to be easy, and your problem solving might be going on simultaneously with someone else.

An example would be in the case of Cassius; The Senate has appointed him to help Metellus Scipio out with the Parthians. Perhaps they want an Optimate back. We don;t know...yet. But to do so, Cassisu must first solve several problem in and around Rome.

He needs to appoint his legates. He needs to either recruit or borrow legions off of Caesar or Pompey. He needs a war chest. He needs his legates. I sent him Labienus to get him started, but also as a way of feeding him information he heeds to know while out on the campaign trail.

All these tasks Cassius must complete - if he really wants to take his command which surely will bring him money and probably put him in the Senior consul's chair. He can do it through the Senate, and even private financing if he chooses. He can do so through canvassing women as well as men. Matrons are a formidable lot at this time.

So there is LOTS for Cassius to play out while other activities with other people go forward simultaneously.

To help in my posts, I will close them all with a paragraph dedicated to key words. Words from the post that are especially relevant in the things to accomplish, a direction to head, or a specific challenge. This is different than me randomly giving you a cold. You'll know it becse I will post it quite directly. :>))

As always, if you have specific questions, simply ask me. I will answer either via your mailbox, or here if I think it is something everyone should know.

    Cheers.
