I must say, as a relative newcomer, what stuns me about the hoods is the range of quality and information. I spent a lot of time in Orient over Goldfest and so many of their hoods are a delight - beautiful graphics and designs that somehow seem to spotlight where the hood is, articles about history, games, and homes. But many aren't developed and vacant. Following QuintusCinna's comment, I poked about in Italia and you are right - few of the homes are very developed, but many that are, could be sooooo much more aesthetically interesting if the persons involved had some html help. And I couldn't make something beautiful like this hood in Egypt, because I have no clue about CSS or anything else graphic. Now if there were someone to design for and with me, it would make a lot of difference as to whether I'd want to take on developing a given hood!
I remembered seeing something in Rome, and found it at Lady Livia's: a group of Roman artists who've agreed to help hood developers who want to make a beautiful and content-full hood, but only have the content and not the beautiful part. I thought it was a great idea, and perhaps some of our Romans could take advantage of it.
It's not true to say that a content-full hood doesn't need good graphics, any more than you can have beautiful furnishings in a wooden shack. A beautiful graphic enhances the value of what you read about and the whole experience. So if I were in Rome, I'd jump to take advantage of this!
Are there such groups or ideas working in other hoods, for those who need graphics and design help?
