In the lands of our fathers the great god of the sky laced the heavens with gold, which we have come to call the northern lights, as a monument of his greatness and a test to the creatures below. In the sea the orca saw the brilliance and with his wisdom said " I can use the magnificent lights which shine upon the waters to help me see my prey and i shall never go hungry". And so the orcas leap from the waters with glee in their thanks for this gift. On the lands the wolf saw the lights gleem upon the snow and said "I shall see the tracks of my prey and be able to follow them and will never go hungry". And so the wolf sings to the heavens in reverence to the great sky gods gift. In the sky the raven saw the lights and in his slyness thought " I shall fly up and take the golden lights for myself and then i shall be revered above all the creatures of the earth". So he flew as high as he could to seize the golden lights but the air grew to thin and he passed out and fell to his death. The orca and the wolf who saw this both knew the truth of this scene, That all things must be used with moderation and that greed is trully the road to destruction.
