I know, people SAY that and never mean it, but this time..
Between you and me, and anyone else who straggles in here and reads.. Egyptian history is actually my one true history love. Always has been, always will be. I just dont get to play with it much as I get distracted easily. *L* Nothing against the Orient or Rome.
I have to admit, I learned a great deal about this era. Even grudgingly got a tiny bit of *possible* respect for some members of the Amarna period I hadn't before. Like I never thought much of Nefertiti or Tutankhamun. Way I see Tut was his total obscurity saved his tomb, but he was insignificant in every way. I have since learned that it wasn't necessarily the case. Egypt forgot about him and his short reign faster than fast thanks to them not even really knowing who the hell he was. But during his rule, he managed quite a feat restoring all the lands, livestock and resources back to their rightfull temples, dismantling anything Aten so fast it could make your head spin. I mean, even if Ay was controlling him like a puppet master, this was his Dad's achievements.
But it was for the good of the country. I have to admire that (albeit grudgingly!)
