I would like to introduce a new subject for discussion to the board. And that I believe that can be in relation with the already discussed ones.

Thus, I will brief state a contrast between the theories of two main faces of the Pre-Socratic philosophical movement, Pythagoras and Parmenides. Hence, the phrase of sense experience, I want to believe that it would be an important subject to include to our debate.

Pythagoreans and Parmenides is an example of two absolute different theories of the idea of “polymathias” and “phylomathias”. Pythagoreans state that the sense experience “DI E)NORA/SEWS H) DIAISQH/SEWS” is the only process to search and even to find the metaphysical true and the O)/NTWS O)/N. For them the ontology that is the responsible part of the philosophy to act for a resolution on the problems regarding the world and life, spirit and soul and the troubles in relation to the being (ōn) can only be provided by the use of our sense experience. On the other hand Parmenides believed that the knowledge of the it is (estin) is impossible to conquer it, because of the minor resources that we have. Hence, he states that much learning (polymathy) does not teach intelligence or “mind”, noūs.

    Yours,

    Nikolaos Cleomenes.
