Keu makes good for telling me about what happened in Cill Dara. I really think he’s trying to cover the seizure of his arm by talking. I’ve never seen an arm seize as such, expect when maybe when someone is having a stroke, but he showed no other signs. I’m a bit confused about the whole ordeal he is talking about, but that was the past. Although the past has everything to do with the future, it can’t be changed and I accept it.
Once Keu has fully dusted himself off and dislodged the random bits of sticks and leaves from his person he grabs up the pouch of thieved goods. He offers me the choice of a few torques, but I know those bones were more richly adored with rings as well as other armbands. I will not forget this cheat, but what good are these trinkets to me? I let it pass and chose a silver torque with a running wolf façade. I think Sean would like it as I find it beautifully done. It reminds me of the wybrids of home and the only piece with gemstones. I wonder if Keu filched any of those.
No sooner than I slip the torque into the pocket with Toad, I catch the sound of pounding feet. Keu seems unaware as he bends down to retrieve his shirt and brat. I see Sean running full bore at us. I assume a tracker is hot on his trail and ready my daggers for throwing.
"Bloody murder for you, thief!" Screeches Sean in the most horrid of voices. I do not know what he is talking about. But I know this can’t be good. No one is chasing him. I cannot hear a horse, hounds or other feet. Not even a hawk’s scream if they use those to maim their prey here. Keu looks just as confused as I.
Sean slams into Keu at the waist with a feral growl. I hear the breath whoosh from Keu’s lungs as they both leave the ground in a short flight into some prickly looking bushes. I literally stand there wondering why in the world Sean is attacking Keu. I can’t take my eyes off this brawl, because I know I can’t pull them apart.
Sean is cursing Keu. Keu has not said much of anything but is defending himself. One of them is bleeding profusely, possibly both of them. I kind of admire the sinewy strength and passion of my husband. I did not realize he was that strong, but for what reason? OH GODS NO!
”Fool!” I hiss exasperatedly. “Stop! Both of you!” I might as well be speaking demon as the neither of them pay me any mind. I continue to keep my voice low as I speak to the brawlers now on their feet, ” Do you want to the trackers to hear you?” Neither of them seem to care. ”Sean! Please stop,” I plea as they clash into battle like a couple of king stags. The battle lust and blood thirsty eyes are strong, but it wanes and neither will give. Their arms act like antlers locked. One pushes, one gives, one pushes, one gives…
I do not know what to do, except to stand clear and hope for the best. Filling my lungs I ready myself for one trick that might work or bring the world around our ears. I open my mouth and let loose an ear splitting banshee shriek that on a clear day such as this could be heard for a great distance. I can only hope it got their attention, because after that I’ve just lost my voice for a few days.
