The secret is out! Henry VIII is my least favorite Tudor. Even his old man, who was generally disliked by his people, rates higher in my opinion. Henry VII had to WORK for everything that came to him. His son on the other hand had everything handed to him. And yes, Henry VIII's ego was monstrous. That's what happens when you have absolute power. My favorite Tudor is of course Elizabeth. How could anyone not admire her? The intriques that she survived during Mary's reign were nothing less than miraculous. It wasn't until the end of her reign that the younger generation started to think of her as old fashioned and made fun of her behind her back. I've always felt sorry for Mary. Her father treated her like dirt and tried to make her love him for it. No wonder she was a neurotic mess! And poor little Edward never had a chance. He inherited the Tudor weakness for consumption and died at age 16.
