everything Bree's said
Ok, so these days I only work about ten hours a day, prepare my Japanese exams and tend to four other websites. Compared to Bree, I realize it's not much :D But not so long ago, I was at college studying preparing my graduation exams (which are a seperate thing from the courses you're required to attend, they had to be prepared from scratch basically), and was working between 70 and 100% depending on how busy the week at the shop was. I could still find time to see people, read, work online, etc AND sleep (contrary to popular believe here, I do sleep, even if it's only for an odd 5-6 hours a night *g*)
Point being, it's a little difficult to believe that he can't find a few hours a month to work on some stuff here, even if he has a very busy life. Hell, he does find the time, on occasion, to come and demote people who haven't paid their patronage (unless it's something he's relinquished to a demi now?). I can understand that, as he hasn't done much in a long time, the list of issues that require his attention has grown and is now a little discouraging. But all he needs is to start somewhere. Anywhere. People would be insanely grateful, I'm sure of it, because at least it would give them hope that problems would get ironed out eventually. As it stands, we don't even have that. And it's hardly fair to expect members here to work hours a week on developing this site at their level if he cannot show some sort of commitment as well
I'm sorry if this sounds harsh. And yes, I'll be eternally grateful for him to have brought this community to life. But like a child, birth is only the beginning: bringing it up and caring for it is the real challenge
