I work 75, sometimes 80 hours a week at 2 1/2 jobs. I still CARVE OUT the time to sing in a local professional choir, take a monthly drive to a town about an hour away to spend time with my husband and eat at a neat diner there, talk on the phone to my family and friends, watch a program here and there, play on AW and get about 7 hours sleep a night. I can do all of this because I WANT to do all of this. I am OBLIGATED to do some of it, but other stuff is what I choose to do (and I didn't even mention cleaning the house and doing the laundry, but that all gets done too).

I have a hard time hearing the busy excuse. I'm not trying to say that Jot isn't busy, but if he spent even an hour or two a MONTH on fixing these bugs, we'd be SO pleased - because they've gone on, literally, for YEARS. I tell my busy students that if they want to play piano/sing, they have to prioritize and make choices. I can tell when they aren't serious because voice/piano is LOW on the priority scale and they will rarely practice. This seems to me to be the problem. PRIORITIES. I'm sorry, but being busy isn't an excuse when you are running a business. I realize this one isn't funding a new home or even a new brick for the home, but it IS a business. There is a way to find the time if that was something important. But it isn't, and that's the bottom line.

Giving us hope that the bugs might ever get fixed is even more cruel. I don't know what to say to members when they complain about it, and ultimately decide not to get a patronage. I don't know any words that make the situation any better -- and the cold black and white truth is that, if it MATTERED, it would get done. I do not support that kind of behavior in my students, in myself, in my phone company, my internet company, my satellite company... (get the drift?) and I won't support it here. I keep my patronage because I agreed to be a scribe, but after that, I doubt I will. I've cancelled all other patronages and will do my best not to give in to the temptation for more grams. Most of the people I talk to here are on Yahoo too, so I REALLY don't need the grams....

But I digress. Sorry! My point is that as an adult you make choices and Jot CHOOSES not to even TRY to fix these niggly things that drive us all batty and inhibit use and enjoyment of the site. That's sad, but we should all just accept that this is the case and then decide what we want to do as a response to it. My response is as outlined above. I wish it could be different. I've supported this place for MANY years. Ah well, all good things must come to an end... and some not so good ones too.
