'The Church of the Ark' at Shiloh is named after the Ark of the Covenant.

The Ark of the Covenant was a stone container wherein rested the two stone tablets inscribed with the Ten Commandments, and it was kept at Shiloh for several hundred .

According to the Hebrew bible, the Ark of Covenant was placed by Solomon in the Holy of the Holies in the temple of Jerusalem . When the Babylonians sacked Jerusalem and the temple, the Ark of Covenant was lost.

Some historians think the Ark of Covenant was destroyed or hidden. One of the theories says that the Ark of Covenant was moved to Ethiopia.

According to the Hebrew bible, Batsheba was a Hebrew woman. Bathsheba's grandfather was Ahitophel, who was buried in the sepulcher of his fathers in his native town Giloh, just a few miles northeast of Hebron (II Samuel 17:1-23). Her father was Eliam, son of Ahitophel (II Samuel 23:34).
