being a royal concubine wasn't so bad...on paper at least. Your welfare was taken care of, in some cases probably your emotional needs were not. I can't imagine sharing my man, one that would have been forced upon me and being okay with it, I would have been pissed but then again it was a man's world and thank God I don't live there! I do believe that men back in those days collected women like trophies and I don't think they could have paid too much attention to all of them at one time, there were plenty of the forgotten doomed to loneliness and perhaps never knowing love or having children.
