The battle was swift. When they first came Belenus dismounted immediatly, drew his dirk and began stabbing and slashing at the assailants. He saw Fenian rush to the Rian's defense and is knocked unconcious by one of the Shadow Men's spear butt. Belenus quickly was by his new friends side and dispatched the fiend with a slash across the throat.

Three more charged Belenus; the first he nimbly lept up and stabbed through the neck and straight into the heart. The second swung at him with a sword and Belenus ducked nimbly out of the way. The fool swung too hard and quick as lightning, Belenus was upon him stabbing him twice in the upper chest - ending his pathetic life. The third man stabbed at Belenus with a spear - slashing his left arm deep. In a fit of rage, Belenus pulled away from the spear blade and hacked at the unfortunate assailants head until all that was left was a bloody stump of a neck.

And then, as quickly as it began it was over. Belenus howled with rage at the forest - daring the cowards to return and face them again. It was then he noticed his profusely bleeding arm, as well as the injuries of his comrades.

MacMorna called out to him, "And what of yourself and Fenian?".

Belenus checked over Fenian to insure he was unharmed and said back in a jovial and calm manner "Well, Fenian here is unconcious - one of the cowards knocked him out rather than face him toe to toe. I am well, other than my left arm." Belenus nodded to Mac's injuries, "Perhaps you should be more worried about yourself, friend."

Belenus than noted with regret that Flidais was no longer amongst them and had no doubt been taken captive with the assassins. He nodded to the others and inquired, "So what now, friends?"
