Sorry for seeing your post just now. I'm guessing that the avatar you're trying to delete is the viking one? I think you were given wrong instructions and you did it in the wrong order; you have to switch the avatar to a new one before changing it to a new one: If you do it in the other way, the old avatar will stay in your image gallery as it's not really been switched. I will tell a demi or two about this and they will delete it for you, (when they have time to do it), so you will have the image space you really should have. This is one the "bugs" of the place, and I'm sorry for your troubles.
